Emiry is a nickname from my poly days. I kind of like it. :) Emiry, like a nonsensical way of saying Emily. Anyway, i had this blog on blogspot for the longest time, but i forgot all about it. And when I tried to explore blogspot, it automatically brought me to emiry (linked to Google/gmail) as i was signed on in Gmail.

I like that the template is more customisable and i can play around with fonts and font sizes. But I prefer the posting process of WordPress. Ah, you can’t get the best of both worlds, I’ve decided to go with blogspot because i like my site to look pretty.

In the middle of moving my posts over from here and eventually those at emilyinthailand (painful process i predict). I don’t want to import the entire blog because i want to filter some posts, edit some photos to make it prettier, and resize some as well. :) Want to do, must do swee swee! Heh! But this is so that i need not be handling so many different blogs at one time. :) And it’s nice to keep everything in one blog.

I’ll be updating http://emiry.blogspot.com from now onwards. :) And will probaby delete this when I’ve finished moving the posts…

Recent flea.fly.flo.fun has not been getting very good response. There was not much crowd. :S I guess I will be looking out for more fleas. Heard from Dina there’s a new flea at Haji Lane. All the clashing dates, no wonder there’s no crowd.

Anyway, I’m going to start like sort of a fashion dairy. Put it simply, I’ll just take photos of outfits I wear out, like the one below! :) I think this will also motivate me to put in more effort for my dressing, and to use the tons and tons of accessories, bags and shoes I bought but have never used! I love the necklace I bought at Zouk Flea&Easy. I got it from my neighbour stall, a stylist Azlan who had an attractive display of all sorts of apparel he collected from all over for shoots.

July’s flea.fly.flo.fun – 25 July

Highlight of July’s flea.fly.flo.fun was Liverpool touring the river (totally unrelated to the flea), so I managed to catch a glimpse of them. Not like I recognized any of them, or even cared much, but then again, it was Liverpool; something World Class, so I was still slightly (just slightly) excited anyway.

The response of the last two flea markets (flea.fly.flo.fun & Zouk Flea&Easy) has been low beyond low. Both were the worst of all months. There wasn’t even a crowd to begin with. Usually the fleas would be so packed with people, there would be difficulty walking. But for those two fleas, walking space aplenty! Where were all the crowd? Online sales too, low low low. Is it because of the GSS (Great Singapore Sale)?

Zouk Flea&Easy (Beauty & Feast) – 2 Aug

There were other flea markets at other areas, and maybe that explains, since timing clash. But ZOUK! I expected more, really.  And online sales is even more pathetic. These are the times I feel demoralized. Maybe I’m just not cut out for this? After all, I was never really fashion savvy and probably liked weird stuff.

Even if at the start, everything may seem difficult, there are so many things making me feel demoralized and feel like giving up, I will keep trying. Because I know without hard work, there won’t be rewards! Nothing comes easy or for free, it’s up to you to work hard, fight and most importantly believe in it. There is also no point in getting something so easily because in the end, maybe you’ll not appreciate it/ take it for granted.

Just like everything in life, if it comes easily, it will probably go easily too… Every step is a learning journey, every obstacle you overcome will make you even stronger… Just remember, nothing in Life is easy at all. If you believe you can do it, then you can do it. Like the famous Nike slogan “JUST DO IT!” & of course Addidas “IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING!” Hahaha

Xiuwei & Shirley @ NYDC Bugis – 3 Aug

It’s been hard to date these two girls lately, they seem very busy. Finally, the 3 musketeers managed to meet. Whenever we meet, it was all about food. Unfortunately, food at NYDC Bugis was mediaocre. :/ Xiuwei was tempted by the display of huge, yummy looking cakes. In the end, we didn’t have any at all, because we were too full from the main course. Next time, I want to go Shirley’s place to play this wii game she told me about, surgery and cutting people up, sounds super cute!

Went Ikea, bought stuff for home organization. Spent about $40 on boxes of sorts; my things still seems untidy BUT better organized. We got Booboo a mini bed from Ikea too! And she loves it! She looks so cute in it. Especially when she rest her head at the sides or bury her face into the cushion.

I made Aglio Olio the other day. I love it! Mum keep complaining no ingredients, 没有营养… Haha. Garlic, onions, pasta and oil! Easy pea-sy! (I love garlic and onions, hello bad breath!)

And I just found out Facebook Language option has Pirate’s English? Does it really exist? Or they trying to be cute?

On January 14th, 2009 the Los Angeles County Museum of Art announced that it was deaccessioning more than 100 items from its costumes and textiles collection. Once carefully collected, catalogued, and cared for, these items have now been cast back out in to the world. What will happen to them? Like any other useless item, they will need to be recycled or disposed of.

Recycle LACMA is a project of Los Angeles-based artist Robert Fontenot. At three separate auctions he purchased over 50 items deaccessioned by LACMA and is now trying to find new uses for these otherwise unwanted items.

Although each item has not yet been used, each item can have a use.

I love before and afters, I love making things! :) I wish I can sew though. (I can, but it sucks. I mean sew well)

Kate was telling me her love story (cute + romantic), but also there’s sort of a problem because of the possibility of a  soon-to-be LDR. For me, solution was easy but to her, my solution was not possible, and that I had thought too simply. I had done what I suggested to her, and it worked for me. But it worked because my priorities were different from hers… I don’t think anything is impossible. It’s just how much you are willing to give up, how far you’re willing to go and for what you think it’s worth.

Our view were too different… But neither was right or wrong. I guess for me, my thinking changed quite a fair bit while I was in BKK and with Mathias. Before this, everything seems complicated. Most of the drama and problems in my Life, seems to be caused by myself!? But now, everything is really that simple and straightforward to me.

True, there are many things we have or need to consider. Some decisions you make will change your Life completely; some will affect more than you know. But for me, I just feel that I can try anything now, especially when I’m so young. If i had not made a decision (I was super unsure) to go over to BKK, I would never have been together with Mathias or done what I’ve always thought of doing- attempting the online business, resulting in me currently feeling- happier than ever…

If you don’t try, it’s a 0% chance or success, if you try, there’s 50% chance leh! Nothing to lose lor! Maybe lose your job, your CPF, your security… But to me, all these can be earned back eventually. Nothing ventured nothing gain, no pain no gain! Surely have to take risk. I cannot tell you for sure I will marry Mathais, I cannot tell you for sure my online shop will be successful… But I want to try… And I believe… :)

I may not be richer, or high up in the career ladder, but I feel so much more fulfilled. I don’t know leh, but I really feel happy and contented with everything I have now!

There’s Mathias, who is ever so cute (every single sentence lor), patient and ever so understanding. I really feel that he can understand me and never fail to say things to make me feel a whole lot better. We have the same ideals, same wavelength of thinking and one thing is I’m really super (欣赏) impressed by his (正义感) “stand up for justice” side, doing things to benefit society or for his interest, not everything is about money, success and you know- the superficial. And funnily, money and success will always come in naturally with all those qualities. And those qualities, really make him very attractive to me.

How not to be happy?!!

There’s my starting business, not successful or anywhere near it, but growing s l o w l y y y y… In fact, still feeling quite lost about the directions I want to go… And made a few mistakes… But I gained experience, lessons in life, the support of so many friends and also felt the love and support of my wonderful parents.

So it’s envitable that friends, family or other people have different point of views, or may say negative things you don’t like to hear etc. But ultimately, you are your own mind, no one can force you to do what they think or say, you don’t have to take everything so hard. When my friends or family tell me things that I may not agree with or even like to hear, sometimes I do feel affected or even irritated, but I also feel that it’s because they care enough to do so, and they bother to give thought to it… -hugs- Ember, Mummy, Daddy! Open your mind! Listen with an open heart! (Haha, sound so profound eh. Act act only)
